My Story | Short Story Sunday

Real Stories. Real Choices. No Perfect Endings.

Think About It

• Does working hard mean you deserve the outcome you want?

• Why was he angry with Jordan even though Jordan hadn’t done anything wrong?

• Is stepping away for a few days the same as quitting?

• What changes when you work toward something with no guarantee you’ll get it?

Would you go to the park?

My Story Journal Reflection

1. What part of this story stayed with you the most, and why do you think it affected you?

2. If you were living this story, what would you be thinking, feeling, or considering that you might not say out loud?

3. What would you do next, and what could happen because of that choice?

Write your answers somewhere private. You don’t have to turn disappointment into motivation immediately. Sometimes reflection starts with admitting how something actually made you feel.

About My Story

My Story is a Three J Youth series built around situations young people may recognize from their own lives.

Friendships. Family. School. Pressure. Mistakes. Relationships. Expectations. Social media. Growing up.

The stories don’t always tell you who was right or what should happen next.

That’s intentional.

Sometimes the most important part of a story is the conversation it starts.

Real Stories. Real Choices. No Perfect Endings.
