Gov. Lombardo Visits CCSD School for AB6 Ceremonial Signing

Governor Joe Lombardo visited Lewis E. Rowe Elementary School on Thursday for a ceremonial signing of Assembly Bill 6 (AB6). The law, which will take effect on July 1, 2026, increases penalties for violations in school zones across the state, including all schools in the Clark County School District (CCSD). AB6 aims to enhance safety for pedestrians and students, while also granting local authorities greater control over the design of school zones.

CCSD Superintendent Jhone Ebert joined Governor Lombardo, along with several Board of School Trustees members, Nevada Senate Majority Leader Nicole Cannizzaro, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Victor Wakefield, Clark County Manager Kevin Schiller, and Clark County Commissioner April Becker to celebrate the bill.

AB6 was passed by the Nevada Legislature during the 2025 Special Session and officially signed into law by Governor Lombardo earlier this month.
